Pete Pflugrath is director for LMI’s defense market business development. Prior to LMI, he was general manager and vice president of business development at AMERICAN SYSTEMS. He has held executive profit and loss leadership positions at Raytheon/BBN Technologies, delivering advanced computer science research and development solutions to DARPA and the intelligence community in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, semantic knowledge representation, natural language processing, immersive training, and distributed computing. Earlier at Stanley Associates (now CGI) and at PRC Corporation (now Northrop Grumman), Pete developed software engineering solutions for the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and intelligence community. He deployed as a contractor to support these systems in Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, Somalia during Operation Restore Hope, and Bosnia during Operation Enduring Freedom. Systems he developed have won several awards, including Best Fielded Artificial Intelligence System in DoD and Best Information Sharing Application in DoD. He serves as a co-chair for the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation Technical Committee, was the sponsorship chair for the International Semantic Web Conference, and serves on an expert panel for the Visual Analytics Science and Technology Challenge sponsored by the Computer Society of IEEE.
