Theme: Integrating AI Solutions and Adoption Strategies to Impact Health Equity
Given LMI’s focus on health and communities, this became the motivation for DEC 2024—actionable health equity solutions coupled with adoption strategies focused on explainability and building trust. Successful health equity solutions can lead to profound impacts for health outcomes, societal stability, economic conditions, and the healthcare system itself. DEC 2024 ultimately engaged 14 registered teams, involving nearly 40 students across 5 UVA Schools (School of Data Science, School of Engineering and Applied Science, McIntire School of Commerce, Darden School of Business, College of Arts and Sciences).
