Symposium Registration | Innovative Workforces: Bridging Talent, Culture, and Technology in Public Service

March 6, 2024

In an era where the future of work is continuously evolving, LMI invites you to join our symposium, Innovative Workforces: Bridging Talent, Culture, and Technology in Public Service. This event is designed to convene thought leaders, policymakers, and trailblazers from government agencies and academia to explore the dynamic interplay of talent, culture, and technology in shaping public service for the future.

Our world is witnessing unprecedented changes in workforce dynamics, driven by rapid advancements in technology, shifts in societal expectations, and the pressing need for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA). These transformations present both challenges and opportunities for public service—requiring us to rethink strategies for hiring, learning, retention, reskilling, and upskilling, as well as to embrace new skills and technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI. The symposium aims to address these critical issues, offering insights into how public service organizations can adapt and thrive in this new landscape.

Keynote speakers, including Stephanie La Rue, Chief of Intelligence Community Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Elaine Ho, NASA's Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Administrator for the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, and Dr. Talitha Washington, Director of the Atlanta University Center Data Science Initiative, will delve into the complexities of fostering an innovative workforce that is equipped to meet the demands of tomorrow. They will explore the intersection of DEIA, data science, and emerging technologies, and discuss how these elements are integral to developing a public service workforce that is diverse, technologically adept, and ready to tackle the challenges of the future.

Our panel of experts, featuring leaders from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), and other esteemed institutions, will further examine the practicalities of integrating these considerations into public service. Discussions will cover the DEIA maturity framework's relevance, the educational paradigms necessary for integrating AI into the workplace, strategies for workforce reskilling and upskilling, and the adaptation of learning in hybrid and remote environments. Additionally, the symposium will spotlight innovative tools and methodologies that aim to optimize human performance and foster a culture of continual innovation and adaptation.

Join us as we embark on a comprehensive dialogue aimed at turning today's challenges into tomorrow's opportunities, ensuring that the public service workforce remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence. This symposium is not just an event, but a call to action for all stakeholders to collaboratively chart a course towards a future where talent, culture, and technology converge to create public service that is resilient, inclusive, and transformative. We look forward to welcoming you in an engaging and insightful discussion on the future of public service workforces.
