Randal Dragon

Prior to joining LMI in 2019, Randy Dragon acted in executive leadership and management positions in the United States Army, joint and multinational forces, and the defense industry. Before entering the civilian sector, Randy served over 30 years in the Army, entering active duty in 1980 after being commissioned in the infantry through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps program at James Madison University. He held various leadership positions from the platoon through division level in the United States, Germany, Honduras, Ukraine, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Iraq. He served as the C/J-3 for Multi-National Corps–Iraq and commanded the Operations Group at the National Training Center. Following that assignment, Randy acted as the deputy commanding general for the 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One) in Basra, Iraq. His last position was as the commanding general of the U.S. Army’s Brigade Modernization Command (now the Joint Modernization Command).
Randy has worked in the defense industry for 6 years as the executive director for a major defense contractor’s Training and Warfighting Readiness Division. In that capacity, Randy led a diverse team that delivered live, virtual, and constructive training capabilities for the Department of Defense and the joint services while managing a portfolio of $62 million in annual revenue with over 450 employees inside and outside the continental United States.
