Eric Herzberg
Fellow Emeritus, Logistics Engineering
Eric is an expert on cost and readiness impacts of maintenance and corrosion on Department of Defense (DoD) weapon systems and infrastructure. He led LMI’s creation of the Maintenance and Availability Data Warehouse (MADWTM), which enables DoD leaders to make decisions that achieve a weapons system’s target availability at the lowest cost. Through this multi-year effort, Eric and his team curated and applied machine learning algorithms to 1.5 billion maintenance records from 46 authoritative systems used by military services for availability, cost, inventory, and transactional data.
Eric joined LMI in 2000 after 13 years as a manager for Michelin Tire Corporation. Prior to Michelin, he served as a field artillery officer in the U.S. Army for five years.
Eric earned his bachelor’s in mathematics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s in business administration from Clemson University. He is executive director of the Fallen Heroes Portrait Foundation and the Eric W. Herzberg Memorial Scholarship.
