TYSONS, Va.—LMI has been awarded a four-year, $7 million contract to continue providing event planning and related services support for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)). The high-level meetings and Department of Defense (DoD) publications to be supported under this contract are critical enablers for the principal mission of OUSD(P), which is to provide responsive, forward-thinking, insightful policy advice and support to the Secretary of Defense and DoD.

The LMI team will have four essential support functions: plan and support high-level events for the Secretary of Defense and OUSD(P), develop and produce high quality graphics and travel information for senior officials, manage audiovisual (AV) support within OUSD(P) conference rooms, and provide printing support for DoD reports and classified trip books. Graphic design support will include producing briefings and other visual products for the Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense, and OUSD(P). AV support will entail operating on-site classified AV systems, training OUSD(P) personnel to operate the systems, and scheduling meetings and briefings that require the use of on-site, classified AV and video teleconferencing systems.

“The work involved with this contract is in direct support of the most senior levels of DoD leadership. It demands a “no-defects” approach in quality and the ability to innovate and respond rapidly. This win is a true testament to our team’s ability to maintain over 15 years of high-level performance and foster valued customer relationships.”

- Jon Baba, Sr. Vice President, Defense Market

Jon Baba, senior vice president of LMI’s defense market, stated, “The work involved with this contract is in direct support of the most senior levels of DoD leadership. It demands a “no-defects” approach in quality and the ability to innovate and respond rapidly. This win is a true testament to our team’s ability to maintain over 15 years of high-level performance and foster valued customer relationships.”

LMI began supporting OUSD(P) in 2007 with one assigned event planner. Since then, LMI’s team of trusted innovators have expanded contract support through creative solutioning and established relationships with key OUSD(P) staff and other DoD stakeholders. This support now includes the planning and execution of the Defense Policy Board, a high-level DoD committee of retired defense officials charged with providing policy and strategy advice to the Secretary of Defense. For the past 15 years, the team’s understanding of the OUSD(P) environment and its event planning, graphic design, and printing requirements has enabled senior OUSD(P) officials and their supporting staff to focus on the mission rather than on meeting mechanics.
