Tysons, Va.—The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has selected LMI to provide strategic development and implementation support for the Medicare Shared Savings Program. During this 5-year, $55M agreement, LMI will improve Accountable Care Organization (ACO) engagement in the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP), aiming to increase care quality for Medicare fee-for-service beneficiaries and decrease unnecessary costs. This helps CMS achieve the goal of having all people with Traditional Medicare in an accountable care relationship with their healthcare provider by 2030.

LMI will apply performance optimization and data analytics expertise to deploy policy, compliance, and operational solutions for the MSSP. Through rigorous ACO application review, expert support to the Federal rulemaking process, systems testing, analytic insights, and clear and reliable communications and outreach, LMI will help CMS expand and improve the program while maintaining a high degree of program integrity. This will result in enhanced access to reliable, high-standard healthcare for millions of Medicare beneficiaries.

“CMS's MSSP is transforming healthcare delivery, empowering ACOs to offer the right care at the right time, incentivizing high-quality services, reducing Medicare spending, and improving patient outcomes.”

Zaki Saleh, senior vice president, health & civilian market

“CMS's MSSP is transforming healthcare delivery, empowering ACOs to offer the right care at the right time, incentivizing high-quality services, reducing Medicare spending, and improving patient outcomes,” said Zaki Saleh, senior vice president, health & civilian market. “LMI has been collaborating with CMS to reach mission success for over 25 years, having supported policy implementation and compliance oversight for seven healthcare models and payment options, from the original Pioneer ACO Model to MSSP’s new Advance Investment Payments (AIP). It is an honor to grow in this partnership and be a part of the continued improvement and evolution of the Medicare Shared Savings Program.”

LMI’s selection for the MSSP Operational Support contract continues its decades-long partnership with CMS to deliver responsive, high-value healthcare experiences for the American public. LMI uses human-centered design methodologies, proactive community outreach, and customer-experience initiatives to strengthen engagement in federal healthcare programs, including MSSP, Medicare Advantage, and the federally facilitated health insurance exchange. Applying data analytics and workflow automation, they support CMS in enacting evidence-based policies, maintaining program integrity, and reducing participation burden, ultimately enhancing the value and impact of healthcare services.

LMI leverages an extensive network of applied research and partnerships, collaborations with top academic institutions, and cutting-edge technologies. Their innovation-driven operational approach includes the LMI Forge Technology Studio, which provides swift exploration, development, and testing of early-stage concepts, expediting value delivery to customers and supporting the next frontier of healthcare
