Logistics, Risk Management, Defense, Enterprise Resource Planning, DoD Supply ChainTysons, Va. – LMI announced it will continue to provide strategic support to the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Logistics Command (LOGCOM). This award expands on efforts completed over the last several years. The one-year contract incorporates a variety of specialized LMI software and capabilities, such as the ASM® Sparing Model and budget stratification tools. LMI’s forecasting tools will greatly enhance LOGCOM’s ability to execute its primary mission: to provide “globally responsive ground equipment inventory control and integrated operational-level logistics capabilities in order to maximize Marine Corps materiel readiness and sustainment.” With this contract, LMI will continue to bring the best of innovation in commercial practices to improve inventory management in the Marine Corps.
LMI began supporting this program over 10 years ago, when it started as an Office of the Secretary of Defense initiative to improve spare parts modeling across the Department of Defense. Throughout that time, LMI has helped LOGCOM continually improve secondary reparable spares support by linking wholesale and retail sourcing locations, considering different types of demands, monitoring metrics, and streamlining the budget process.
Of this award, LMI’s vice president of the defense market, Robert Lech, said, “It is critical that we lend our expertise and contribute to the readiness of our Marine Corps by ensuring its systems operate as efficiently as possible. We are proud to not only continue but expand our support to LOGCOM.”
