Sarah Lukens

Dr. Sarah Lukens is a Fellow at LMI. Her area of expertise is in developing data-driven analytics for reliability applications by combining modern data science techniques with current industry performance data. Her work involves analyzing asset maintenance data and creating statistical models that support asset performance management (APM) work processes using components from natural language processing, machine learning, and reliability engineering.  Dr. Lukens has 10 years of industry experience, formerly developing industrial software solutions at Meridium and GE Digital prior to joining LMI.  Dr. Lukens completed her Ph.D. in mathematics in 2010 from Tulane University and conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Notre Dame.  

Dr. Lukens is engaged in the maintenance and reliability community through volunteer work with the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP), where she is on the board of directors and Best Practices Committee.  Dr. Lukens is a Fellow the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) Society, was named by SME as one of 25 leaders transforming manufacturing in 2021, and is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
