Every year on November 11, our grateful nation pauses to remember and thank all of the men and women who have put on the uniform to serve our country. We take a moment to honor the service of the more than 21 million veterans alive across the nation.
The admirable character traits required to answer the call of duty—courage, loyalty, selflessness—drive veterans to continue to serve after they have transitioned from the military. LMI is honored to serve our nation’s military and veterans not only in the work that we do, but by seeking to have a disproportionately high number of employees who are former service members. We don’t do this out of gratitude. We do this because we are intimately familiar with the value of a veteran. As a mid-sized employer, we see this every day. More than 400 of our employees have served. Many of our senior leaders are veterans, and many more are military family members. Together, LMI is deeply tied to our broader military community.
LMI works hard to recognize and advise clients on good investments and we do the same thing with our hiring and our charitable giving. We value the experience that veterans bring to our workforce, and make it a priority to invest in veterans and their families by bringing them onto our team. We are also proud of our support to causes that support the veterans’ community outside of work, providing countless volunteer hours as well as charitable donations. LMI contributes to dozens of veteran service organizations and not for profits as a company, but our employees also support these organizations with their valuable time and energy.
November is also Military Family Month, when we honor the families and military community that support our service members, veterans, spouses, children, and family members that also sacrifice in the name of a higher purpose—defending our nation and securing our future. We have many military family members in the greater LMI family, including some who have seen their loved ones deploy into harm’s way, and we are there for them for whatever they may need.
So, on this Veterans Day, we want to say “thank you” to LMI’s veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice, and to all of LMI for ensuring that our nation’s military is always ready, and for caring for those who have borne the battle. We are proud to serve them alongside you.
